More State Road 2 construction starts Monday

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
Drivers using State Road 2 in LaPorte County will encounter several traffic restrictions beginning on Monday, Aug. 10.
A section of the highway between County Road 600 North and Old State Road 2 will be reduced to one lane while crews work on the bridge over the CSX Railroad.
That project is expected to continue until late October.
Then, on August 17, State Road 2 will close completely between County Roads 600 and 400. The closure is needed for a pipe replacement and is expected to last into early September.
A separate project will also keep State Road 2 down to one lane between County Road 1100 West and County Road 600 East. That work, at Forbes Ditch, is expected to continue through early September.
Drivers should plan for additional travel time and use extra caution around construction crews.
