One person is dead following a crash involving an Amtrak train and a passenger vehicle Tuesday.

It happened in Chikaming Township. Police say the vehicle was struck by a southbound train at the East Road crossing near Lakeside and caught fire.

WSJM says the driver, 72-year-old Paul Rizzo of Lakeside, was killed. More than 200 passengers and the train crew were not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
