LaPorte man convicted of murdering stepfather

A LaPorte man has been convicted of murdering his stepfather during an argument over loud music.
A jury found 37-year-old Breon Ware guilty in the strangling death of 58-year-old Aaron Stingley at a Jefferson Avenue home last October.
Prosecutors say a nine-year-old boy testified that he saw Ware punch Stingley and put an arm around his neck during the fight.
An autopsy later confirmed Stingley had been strangled.
Ware was also convicted of aggravated battery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Sentencing is scheduled for September 25th.
