No charges will be filed against a man who shot another man in downtown South Bend last month.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office says it cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Wayne Hubbard was not acting in self-defense when he shot Antonio Anderson late last month near Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and Colfax Avenue.
Court documents say Anderson allegedly approached Hubbard while armed as Hubbard fished with his fiancée and child.
Surveillance video reportedly supported Hubbard’s account that Anderson raised his gun before Hubbard opened fire.
Anderson is now currently charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
