A 27-year-old Elkhart man was injured Monday night after his dirt bike collided with a car at County Road 20 and Charlotte Avenue.
The sheriff’s office says the dirt bike was traveling east when a 70-year-old Elkhart man in a Honda Accord turned in front of it.
The dirt bike had no headlight or taillight, and investigators say it was not registered or insured.
The dirt bike rider was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered a broken hand and road rash. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital.
He was cited for several violations, including unsafe speed, lack of insurance and improper equipment.
