The St. Joseph County Department of Health’s EMBER program is hosting a free car seat safety clinic Tuesday, Sept. 29, in South Bend.

The clinic will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. near the Northwest Neighborhood Center at 1013 Portage Avenue.

Certified car seat technicians will provide education, safety inspections and installation help.

Qualified families may also receive a free car seat or booster seat through the Indiana Automotive Safety Program.

Indiana law requires children from birth through age 8 to be properly secured in a child safety seat. Space is limited, and pre-registration is preferred.
