The historic Elkhart County Courthouse has renamed a court chamber in honor of Judge Aldo Simpson, the county’s longest-serving circuit court judge.

Simpson served on the bench from 1932 to 1976 following stints as Goshen city attorney and Elkhart prosecuting attorney.

Family and community members gathered Monday to honor Simpson, who is also memorialized by a footbridge over the Elkhart River.
