Part of a lawsuit tied to a 2024 South Bend police shooting can move forward.
Antoine Minor claims former Officer Emanuel Garcia fired seven shots at his vehicle as Minor drove away from gunfire near Washington and Wellington Streets.
A federal judge dismissed Minor’s claims against the city for now, ruling he did not provide enough evidence that a city policy or training failure caused the shooting. But claims against Garcia, including excessive force and battery, may proceed.
Minor has 30 days to amend his claim against the city.
