Vehicles removed from St. Joseph River

(Alyssa Foster/95.3 MNC)
South Bend Fire Department crews have been removing two vehicles from the St. Joseph River, but officials say the work is not connected to a new incident.
The vehicles were involved in separate incidents earlier this year, and both were confirmed to be empty at the time.
Fire crews and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources waited for safe water levels, current conditions and weather before beginning the recovery operation.
