Indiana residents planning to vote in the Nov. 3 general election have until Monday, Oct. 5, to register through an Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch.
The BMV also offers free state-issued identification cards for voting to eligible unlicensed Hoosiers who are U.S. citizens, can provide the required documents and will be at least 18 by Election Day.
Applicants for a new state ID or driver’s license must provide proof of identity, a Social Security number, lawful status and Indiana residency. Two residency documents, such as a recent utility bill or bank statement, are required. Those whose legal name differs from their identity documents must also provide proof of the name change.
Voters can register or check their registration status online at IndianaVoters.in.gov.
