Mishawaka Police arrested a 56-year-old Texas man after he allegedly barricaded himself inside a hotel room.

Officers were called, Saturday evening, Oct. 3, to the Country Inn and Suites on West University Drive for a report of an unwanted person.

Police say the man had been aggressive toward a female desk clerk and had made inappropriate comments to a young girl.

When officers tried to remove him from the hotel at management’s request, police say he barricaded himself inside his room.

After more than an hour, officers used chemical agents and a Taser to take him into custody.

He was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance before being booked on charges of criminal trespass, battery to a law enforcement officer and resisting law enforcement.
