Indianapolis man charged after two shot in Michigan City

A 25-year-old Indianapolis man is facing charges after two people were shot in Michigan City late Saturday.
Michigan City Police were called to the Senior Center parking lot shortly before 11:30 p.m. for a reported shooting. Officers found a 43-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and abdomen.
The man was flown to a hospital by medical helicopter and was reported to have life-threatening injuries.
A short time later, officers were called to Franciscan Health, where a 32-year-old woman had arrived with a gunshot wound to her leg. Her injury was reported as non-life-threatening.
Police arrested John Holmes at the hospital. He is charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and obstruction of justice.
