Search concludes in central Indiana; authorities still mum

WHEELING, Ind. (AP) — Authorities in central Indiana say they have concluded a massive search and seized evidence, but won’t be able to talk about their investigation until search warrants are unsealed, possibly Monday.

Delaware County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Eric Hoffman and Muncie Police Chief Steve Stewart released a statement Saturday about the search near Wheeling that took place over three days, ending Saturday.

Muncie police officers, Delaware County sheriff’s deputies and FBI agents used a cadaver dog and appeared to dig a series of shallow holes in one backyard.

Hoffman says investigators will file an inventory of what was seized with the court and copies will be made available then. He anticipates search warrants may be unsealed Monday.

Hoffman says the investigation is expected to continue “into the coming weeks and months.”
