Pop Weaver, Cheri Daniels get Fairgrounds naming rights

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana State Fair Commission says the Pop Weaver Youth Pavilion and the Cheri Daniels Arena complete the naming rights for the Indiana Farmers Coliseum complex.

The commission announced Friday that Whitestown-based Weaver Popcorn Co. Inc. has entered into a 10-year deal to name the youth pavilion that has hosted nearly 1 million visitors since its completion in 2013.

The arena inside the pavilion will be named after Cheri Daniels, the former Indiana first lady and wife of former governor and current Purdue University President Mitch Daniels. Fair Commission Executive Director Cindy Hoye called Mrs. Daniels as “one of the Indiana State Fair’s biggest champions.”

The commission didn’t announce terms of the deal with Weaver Popcorn.
