Northeastern Indiana firefighter killed in crash in Huntington County

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (AP) — A northeastern Indiana firefighter has died after the military-style truck he was driving crashed and rolled onto its top.

The Huntington County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Brent Bowman was killed in the crash Friday evening. The Journal Gazette and WANE-TV report Bowman worked for the Huntington Fire Department.

The sheriff’s office says Bowman was trapped by the truck after it went off the road in Huntington County. According to the sheriff’s office, a 10-year-old girl who was in the truck had minor injuries and was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital.

Jason Meier with the Huntington Fire Department tells the TV station that Bowman was “one of the hardest working people” he had ever met.
