CHESTERTON, Ind. (AP) — A spokeswoman for the firm developing a privately run banquet center at Indiana Dunes State Park says it will address concerns raised by opponents of the project.
Pavilion Partners LLC spokeswoman Deb Butterfield told the Post-Tribune the items being addressed are a glass wall that opponents say migratory birds might fly into.
She says Pavilion Partners isn’t ready to release details yet, but says the developers listened to critics of the banquet center, which has been scaled back to 17,000 square feet. State officials say the footprint of the building is about 8,650 square feet and will be built on existing concrete.
Pavilion Partners signed a 35-year lease with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in February to renovate and manage the pavilion at the park fronting Lake Michigan.
