Wrigley Field's new bleachers to get new food stands

CHICAGO (AP) — Wrigley Field’s makeover is about to include new concessions for the historic ballpark’s renovated bleachers.

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks approved the plan Thursday.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the plan calls for two large permanent concessions under the stadium’s well-known manual scoreboard in centerfield. Four smaller concession stands will be added for bleachers in left and right fields.

Mike Lufrano is executive vice president of the Cubs. He said the new stands should be open as soon as July and end the days of long lines and limited food options for fans in the bleachers.

The renovated bleachers are due to open next week.
