Free Powerball tickets to be given away in Elkhart and South Bend on Friday

The Powerball jackpot is expected to exceed $700 million before the drawing on Saturday night, and Michiana residents could get a shot at the money for free.

Free Powerball tickets will be given away in Elkhart and South Bend on Friday afternoon, Jan. 8, WNDU reported.

The first giveaway begins at noon at Kroger at 130 W. Hively Ave., Elkhart. The second giveaway begins at 4 p.m. at Kroger at 4526 W. Western Ave., South Bend.

The first 200 adults at these locations will receive one free Powerball ticket. Powerball players must be at least 18 years old.
