Rape charge filed against LaPorte man accused of assaulting 12-year-old girl on Christmas Day

An 18-year-old LaPorte man was arrested after police say he raped a 12-year-old girl on Christmas Day.

Troy Hensley was booked at the LaPorte County Jail on charges of rape, child molesting, theft and intimidation, according to our news partners ABC 57. He’s being held on a $25,000 bond and is due in court next month.

Hensley was at the home of the 12-year-old girl on Christmas, but was asked to leave. When the girl was walking to a friend’s home later that day, police say Hensley grabbed the girl, threw her to the ground, put his hand over her mouth and assaulted her.

Police say he also threatened a 13-year-old boy on Dec. 26 after the boy caught Hensley stealing from a gas station, ABC 57 reported. Hensley was taken into custody Dec. 26.
