Authorities: Missing man's body found near bank of river

NILES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say the body of a man missing since last month has been found near the bank of the St. Joseph River in southwestern Michigan.

The Berrien County sheriff’s department says the body of 51-year-old Terry Lynn Worsham of Buchanan was located on Wednesday in Niles Township.

Worsham had been missing since Nov. 20. According to a preliminary investigation, the department says Worsham accidentally drove off a steep embankment and his vehicle got stuck. Investigators say he apparently was unable to get to the top of the riverbank.

An autopsy is planned to determine cause of death.
