The body found in a ditch along West Ireland Road in South Bend on Saturday, Oct. 10, has been identified.
John C. Tolley, 54, of South Bend, was found dead along the south side of Ireland Road east of Keria Trial, according to a news release from St. Joseph County Police.
Evidence found on scene indicates Mr. Tolley was struck by a vehicle, the news release states. The vehicle involved in this incident left the scene after the collision.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is still actively investigating this incident.
