Speedway robberies suspect arrested Thursday

A 23-year-old South Bend was arrested after police say he robbed two gas stations in South Bend a week ago.

Drew P. Neidlinger was arrested Thursday, Aug. 13, on a preliminary charge of robbery, according to a news release from Capt. Scott D. Hanley with the South Bend Police Department.

Neidlinger is suspected of robbing the Speedway gas stations at 1449 E. Mishawaka Ave. and 2150 E. South Bend Ave. in South Bend on Aug. 7.

Officers were called to the Mishawaka Avenue gas station at 9:55 a.m. for a robbery and then to the South Bend Avenue location at 10:45 a.m.

Formal charges are expected within 24 hours, Hanley said.
