Trial date rescheduled for New Paris babysitter accused in toddler's death

The trial for a New Paris babysitter accused of beating a toddler to death was postponed to early 2016.

Jackie Rolston, 59, was charged back in March with one count of battery on a child resulting in death in connection with the death of 19-month-old Kirk Coleman.

Rolston’s trial was scheduled to begin in October, but was rescheduled to January 25, 2016, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Coleman was rushed to the hospital while Rolston was babysitting him at her home, according to court documents. Rolston told first responders the boy was choking on his lunch. An autopsy determined Coleman died from blunt force trauma to the head, according to court documents.
