South Bend man killed in early morning crash in LaGrange on Wednesday

A 45-year-old South Bend man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in LaGrange early Wednesday morning, July 1.

Hoffman Kennach was trying to pass a semi on S.R. 5 south of U.S. 20 at about 5:30 a.m. when his vehicle sideswiped a different vehicle, WSBT reported.

Kennach’s vehicle spun and then was T-boned by a pickup truck, according to 95.3 MNC’s news partners ABC 57. Kennach was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.

He was not wearing a seat belt, ABC 57 reported.

Another person involved in the crash was taken to an area hospital with a broken rib while a third person suffered only minor injuries.
