A South Bend man was arrested over the weekend after police say he was driving drunk in South Bend with his 4-year-old son in the back seat.

Police stopped Gustavo Mora, 40, for a traffic violation just after 5 p.m. Saturday, May 2, near Olive and Sample streets, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.

Mora seemed intoxicated to the state trooper and was found to have a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit, according to the news release.

The trooper also noticed that a young boy, identified as Mora’s son, was sitting unrestrained in the back seat. Mora also had never been issued a driver’s license, according to the news release.

The child was released to Mora’s girlfriend after she arrived at the traffic stop, according to the news release.
