Two people killed, one man arrested after Starke County crash

Two people were killed and a man is behind bars after a deadly crash in Starke County.

Police were called at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, to the area of S.R. 10 and 700 West near North Judson, according to a news release from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department.

When emergency responders arrived, they found two people were ejected from a motorcycle and a pickup truck was on fire.

The two people on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

The driver of the pickup truck was found walking in the area of the crash site. He was taken to IU Health Starke Hospital, where he was given a blood alcohol test.

He was arrested on two preliminary counts of reckless homicide and is being held at the Starke County Jail.
