Welcome to the new 953MNC.com

Your favorite place for news, traffic and weather in Michiana just got even better.

Welcome to the new and improved 953MNC.com.

Things look a lot different around here and we’re pretty excited about the changes. We think you will be too.

First, the obvious. The new design features new colors, an updated MNC logo, larger text and more photographs than ever before, all geared toward making the site easier on the eyes.

The improvements don’t stop there.

When you first come to our site, you’ll be greeted by the most important news happening right now. Our specialty has always been local news, traffic and weather, and you’ll find more of that every day. You’ll also see more regional and national headlines too.

As you take a look around, you’ll find we’ve simplified how you find the news and information that matters to you. While most stories are featured on our home page, you can check out the “News” section for more content organized by region and various topics. You can find out more information about the local and national shows we broadcast on the radio on the “Shows” button and listen to podcasts from Michiana’s Morning News and The Casey Hendrickson Show under “Podcasts.” Plus, you can get to know more about the staff here at Michiana’s News Channel and get in touch with us on the “About” page.

You also have more personalized reading recommendations from 953MNC.com and our sister-sites: elkharttruth.com, TheFanIndiana.com and Flavor574.com throughout the site.

Searching for stories has never been easier — just click on the magnifying glass at the upper corner and type in what you’re looking for.

All of these improvements are available on your smart phone and tablet too. Pull out your device to read all of our stories, search for anything on our site and listen to the live radio broadcast or to any of our podcasts from anywhere in the world.

You can also share any story to your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ pages at the click of a button. No more copying a link and heading over to a different site. You can also email stories and print them out easily. Check out the buttons at the bottom of every story and try them out.

Not everything is different, though. You can still see what we’re broadcasting on 95.3 FM and listen live from our site. You’ll still be able to get the most updated list of closings and delays when you need them and get text alerts about breaking news and traffic (sign up if you haven’t already).

This isn’t the end of upgrades for 953MNC.com. Soon, you’ll be able to read blog posts from your favorite local hosts, Mark McGill and Casey Hendrickson. You’ll also be able to comment on stories quickly and sign up for newsletters and more text alerts.

In the mean time, try browsing the site. Our goal is to provide you with all of the news, traffic and weather information in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan that you need whenever you need it — whether you’re listening to the radio or browsing online.

Don’t forget to connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ too.

If you ever have any thoughts or questions about the website, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. You can send me an email at kvivian@953mnc.com or reach me on Twitter at @KrystalVivian.
