South Bend Cubs to play Notre Dame baseball team for charity on Tuesday

You have a chance to catch a sneak-preview of sorts of the South Bend Cubs on Tuesday night, April 7.

The Cubs will take on the Notre Dame baseball team in a 7-inning exhibition game at Four Winds Field to benefit two charities.

Each team receives half of the game’s proceeds to give to a charity of their choice.

The Center for the Homeless is the chosen charity for the Cubs, while the Fighting Irish will support the Pete Frates #3 Fund.

“It’s a great opportunity for both teams to come together and just have fun for the community,” said Joe Hart, president of the South Bend Cubs. “We share the same values and spirit of the game.”

Gates for the game will open at 5 p.m. and first pitch is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased on the South Bend Cubs website.
