You might notice a strange odor around parts of Mishawaka this week, but it’s nothing to worry about.
The City is performing a cured-in-place lining process at various sewers each day this week, resulting in a resin-like odor that could be detectable in nearby homes or businesses.
The odor can enter a building through pipes without traps, and owners in the affected areas should fill floor drains and traps with a bucket of water to reduce the possibility. Door hangars are being left at buildings in the affected areas with contact information.
CIPP sewer lining crews will be working at the following locations, weather permitting:
Monday (10/7)
E. Fourth St between Alford St and Home St
Tuesday (10/8)
W. Seventh St between Taylor St and Wells St
Grape Rd between Catalpa Dr and Edison Rd
Wednesday (10/9)
Dodge Ave in the rear easement between E. 13th St and E. 15th St
Thursday (10/10)
Clay St between W. Grove St and W. Lawrence St
E. LaSalle Ave from N. Main St to Sarah St
Friday (10/11)
E. Fourteenth St Easement between Dodge Ave and Michigan Ave.
Lane restrictions and parking restrictions may be in place during this process. Questions regarding this work may be directed to Dan Homick of Visu-Sewer at (708)774-0446.
