LaPorte boy reports suspicious men tried to lure him in van with candy

Police are looking for two suspects after a LaPorte boy said they tried to lure him into a van with candy.

At about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, the boy told police he was walking in the area of D and west 11th streets when two people approached him in a white unmarked van and offered him candy to get inside the van, according to a news release from the LaPorte Police Department.

The boy refused, ran away and told police, according to the release.

The van’s license plates had a K and a L and the number sequence ended with a zero, according to the release.
