Armed robbery reported at Martin's Super Market in Elkhart, police seek suspect

Elkhart police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at Martin’s Super Market on Nappanee Street in Elkhart.

The robbery was reported at 6:17 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, according to a news release from the Elkhart Police Department.

The male suspect walked into the store and showed a handgun to a clerk at the customer service desk while demanding money, according to a news release. Nobody was injured, but the suspect took cash and ran out the front door and may have gotten into a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 to 170 pounds.
