Indiana is the top state in the Midwest for business, sixth in United States

Indiana is the best state in the Midwest and sixth best state in the United States for business according to a recent survey by Chief Executive magazine.

The magazine surveyed more than 500 CEOs from around the country and found that CEOS prefer states with low taxes, quality living environments and progressive business development programs, according to a news release from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

Indiana’s high ranking is due in part to the state’s right-to-work law, the news release stated. More than 100 companies either located to or expanded in Indiana because of the law, according to the IEDC, creating 10,000 projected new jobs.

Comparatively, Ohio ranked 22nd, Kentucky ranked 28th, Michigan ranked 43rd and Illinois ranked 48th in Chief Executive’s survey.
