Tuesday was a big win for Mike Braun in his effort to become Indiana’s next governor. On Wednesday, he announced a running mate.
U.S. Senator Mike Braun, now the GOP nominee, named Indiana State Representative Julie McGuire as his choice for lieutenant governor for the 2024 general election.
Braun called McGuire “a strong conservative who has lived the values of faith, family and community” who — like himself — doesn’t come from the farm system of politics. However, Noblesville pastor Micah Beckwith launched a public bid for lieutenant governor last summer.
The nomination for the role is decided in private party conventions, the next planned for this summer.
