The body found in Marshall County on Wednesday is that of Alma Del Real.
A forensic pathologist made the positive identification during an autopsy performed Thursday, according to a news release from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. The cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.
Criminal charges were not filed Thursday against 24-year-old Alberto Cruz, a South Bend man arrested Wednesday in connection to the case. A decision on formal charges will be made Friday, according to the news release.
