A Schoolcraft, Mich., man died Thursday afternoon, June 11, after he suffered a heart attack while driving on Sodus Parkway near the U.S. 31 Bypass in Berrien County.

Scot Dailey, 52, was a driver making deliveries to area vending machines when he had a heart attack, according to a news release from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. 

Dailey was found slumped over the wheel of his van at about 2:30 p.m. after a passerby noticed that the van had hit an AEP electrical tower, according to the news release.

Emergency responders performed CPR but they weren’t able to revive him. Police believe he died of the heart attack before the crash happened.

Police later learned that Dailey called his employer and said he had chest pains and wasn’t feeling well shortly before the crash.
