Man stabbed in Berrien Springs, Roommate arrested on Friday

A Berrien County man has been arrested after police say he stabbed his roommate.

Officers were called to the 100 block of West Ferry Street in Berrien Springs on Friday, June 19, where they found the victim, 21, who was stabbed in the chest, according to Chief Paul Toliver with the Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department.

The victim told officers he and his roommate got into an argument and that the roommate grabbed a knife, stabbed him, then took off.

The suspect, 21, was arrested a short time later at a laundromat on East Pitt Street.

The victim was taken to Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph and treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound to his chest.

The suspect was taken to the Berrien County Jail.
