Woman charged with child neglect after son found covered in mosquito bites, dirt

PORTAGE, Ind. (AP) — A 33-year-old Portage woman faces charges after her husband found his one-year-old son covered in dirt and mosquito bites.

Police say Angelica Holley was charged with neglect of a dependent. She also had an outstanding warrant. She was arrested early Thursday.

According to the police report, the boy’s father said Holley told him she was at a friend’s house. After he found the child, the father took him to the emergency room and police were contacted.

It was immediately unclear if Holley had an attorney. A listed number for her could not be located Thursday.
