JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is set to join two Republican state senators in the race for the 9th District congressional seat.

Zoeller is scheduled to make a campaign announcement Monday in Jeffersonville.

He would join state Sens. Brent Waltz of Greenwood and Erin Houchin of Salem as Republican hopefuls in the district stretching from the Ohio River to the southern suburbs of Indianapolis. The district also includes the cities of Bedford, Bloomington, Franklin, Jeffersonville, New Albany and Seymour. Zoeller is a native of New Albany.

Republican incumbent Todd Young is giving up the seat to run for the U.S. Senate next year.

Zoeller was first elected state attorney general in 2008 and won re-election by a wide margin in 2012.
