School releases name of student who fell through glass roof

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — University of Michigan officials say the 21-year-old student killed by a fall through the glass roof of Nickels Arcade in Ann Arbor was Joshua Brigham of Saugatuk.

The Ann Arbor News reports that Brigham majored in psychology in the school’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.

Brigham climbed the fire escape to the top of the roughly three-story structure with a female acquaintance around 2:20 a.m. Friday.

The newspaper reported Friday that they made it over the glass roof once and were attempting to cross back when he fell. Brigham later died at a hospital.

The woman wasn’t injured and helped provide first aid.

Nickels Arcade is home to a collection of shops near University of Michigan’s campus. The pedestrian thoroughfare is covered by the glass roof.
