Search continues for Illinois woman in Lake Michigan

PORTER, Ind. (AP) — Indiana Conservation Officers and the Coast Guard are searching for a 20-year-old Illinois woman on Lake Michigan after rescuing two other women she was swimming with.

Conservation Officer Tyler Brock says Chase Froese of Carol Stream, about 30 miles west of Chicago, was swimming at Porter Beach about 7 p.m. Central time Friday when emergency personnel responded to a report of three women struggling in the water.

Brock says others at the beach were able to rescue the other two women and Froese disappeared from sight. The search continued into the night and resumed shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday.
