GAYLORD, Mich. (AP) — The former president and treasurer of a University of Michigan fraternity have appeared in court on misdemeanor charges related to a wild, booze-filled weekend at a ski resort.

Josh Kaplan and Zach Levin are charged with providing a place for minors to drink. WXYZ-TV reports that defense attorney John Minock would like to resolve the case, but restitution to Treetops Resort for extensive property damage appears to be the sticking point.

Doors, furniture, fixtures and carpet were badly damaged last January at Treetops. The university called the vandalism “reprehensible” and shut down Sigma Alpha Mu. Another fraternity member charged with a felony accepted a plea deal in June.

Otsego County prosecutor Michael Rola says as many as nine more people could be charged in the weeks ahead.
