SYDNEY (AP) — Australia will use the University of Notre Dame as a training base ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

The Australian Rugby Union said Wednesday that an extended Wallabies squad will arrive in South Bend, Indiana, on Aug. 29 and train until Sept. 3 before traveling to Chicago’s Soldier Field to play the USA Eagles on Sept. 5.

The Wallabies will return to Notre Dame following the match to continue their preparations. The 31-man World Cup squad departs Indiana for its final camp in Bath, England on Sept. 13.

Australia head coach Michael Cheika says the team is “very grateful for the opportunity to train out of one of the world’s most prestigious universities in Notre Dame.”

The Wallabies play their first World Cup match Sept. 23 against Fiji in Cardiff.
