South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg makes wager with Austin mayor on Notre Dame vs. Texas game

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg agreed to a friendly wager with the mayor of Austin on the outcome of the Notre Dame vs. Texas game on Saturday night at Notre Dame Stadium.

Steve Adler, the mayor of Austin, will attend the game and meet with Buttigieg before it to talk about their cities, according to a news release from the mayor’s office.

If the Fighting Irish win, Adler will give Buttigieg a package of Franklin Barbecue — what Adler calls “some of (Austin’s) finest barbecue.”

If the Longhorns manage to put up the W, Adler will receive South Bend Chocolate Company chocolates and South Bend Blend Honey from the South Bend community gardens.
