Mother, son injured after they were hit by pickup truck in Berrien Springs

A woman was airlifted to the hospital and her 4-year-old son was also injured after they were hit by a pickup truck while crossing the street in Berrien Springs, Mich., on Wednesday night, Sept. 9.

The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ferry and Cass streets, according to a news release from the Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department.

The woman is in serious but stable condition at South Bend Memorial Hospital, according to the news release.The boy suffered minor injuries that didn’t require medical treatment.

The pair were struck by a pickup truck that was turning from the light onto Ferry Street.

The crash is under investigation.
