Truck hauling hogs rolls over on Napier Avenue in Benton Township

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a truck hauling more than 100 hogs rolled over in southwestern Michigan, trapping some of the animals inside.

WSJM-FM reports the crash happened on Monday night in the 1900 block of Napier Avenue in Benton Township and the driver wasn’t injured in the crash.

WNDU-TV reports crews worked to remove hogs from the trailer. In all, the stations say about 140 hogs were in the trailer at the time of the crash.

Police in Benton Township say the Berrien County sheriff’s department is handling the investigation. The Associated Press left a message Tuesday seeking updated information.
