HAMMOND, Ind. (AP) — A Gary man has been ordered released from custody pending trial after being charged with lying to FBI agents investigating the 1995 death of a 15-year-old girl.

The (Munster) Times reports 34-year-old Barry Taylor had to sign a $20,000 unsecured bond Thursday. Attorneys said in a federal court hearing in Hammond that he won’t be placed on electronic home detention.

Johnice White was found dead at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Aug. 8, 1995, about 30 hours after she disappeared. An indictment unsealed Monday said Taylor was interviewed by FBI agents in 2012, and denied having had sex with White or knowing anyone who had. His DNA was later found to match DNA on her underwear.

A magistrate judge said conditions to Taylor’s release include barring him from travel outside the northern districts of Indiana and Illinois.
