Todd Geers resigns as executive director of St. Joseph County Public Safety Communications Consortium

Todd Geers is resigning from his position as executive director of the St. Joseph County Public Safety Communications Consortium, the group that oversees the county’s 911 dispatch centers.

In his resignation letter dated Monday, Sept. 28, Geers said that he is proud of his work with the consortium and that he is committed to the best interests of taxpayers and residents of St. Joseph County. That commitment, he wrote, is why he believes that a “local public safety leader” should lead the consortium.

The letter did not name a specific public safety leader.

Geers offered to stay on as a consultant to help smooth the transition between leaders.

This story is ongoing and will be updated as more information becomes available.
