Pete Buttigieg, Kelly Jones to square off in South Bend mayoral debate Tuesday night at IUSB

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Republican mayoral candidate Kelly Jones will face off during a debate at IU South Bend on Tuesday night, Oct. 6.

The debate will begin at 6 p.m. in the Wiekamp Hall Auditorium and is scheduled to last about 90 minutes. Audience members will have a chance to submit questions on notecards.

The debate will be moderated by Dr. Elizabeth Bennion, a political science professor at IUSB and campus director of the American Democracy Project.

Buttigieg, a Democrat and South Bend native, has been mayor since 2012. Jones is also a South Bend native and is a newcomer to politics.
