A 28-year-old Mishawaka man was arrested in connection to a “suspicious” house fire in Mishawaka on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 29.

Levi Joshua Williams is being held without bond on a preliminary arson charge at the St. Joseph County Jail, according to online jail records.

The home at 1005 Berlin Avenue was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived shortly after 2 p.m., the South Bend Tribune reported. Lt. Tim Williams with the Mishawaka Police Department told the Tribune that the fire is “suspicious.”

Nobody was injured, but the house was seriously damaged and siding on a neighboring house melted because of the blaze, our news partners ABC 57 reported.

The fire remains under investigation.
