It will take a little longer than expected for you to unroll your yoga mat at the planned YMCA location in Mishawaka.

The new Michiana Family YMCA location at 205 West Edison Road will not be ready to open its doors until sometime next year, which is a delay from the plan that had it opening this fall.

Dan Asleson, the CEO of Michiana Family YMCA, told the South Bend Tribune that they don’t want to to rush it and open a facility that wouldn’t best serve the community.

Major renovations at the facility, including a large child care area, are expected to begin by the end of this year.
